  • Kuvaus: One of the two hurdy-gurdy grinders from the film "Hurdy-gurdy, poverty and pride" (1955), Pavlaras (Vasilis Avlonitis) is sick. Petrakis (Mimis Fotopoulos) is forced to sell the hurdy-gurdy to help him. Meanwhile, Kaiti, who has split up with Dimitris (Alekos Alexandrakis) is on a trip. She buys back the hurdy-gurdy and gives it to them. Pavlaras recovers and the two travellers take action is order to get the couple back together. Petrakis and Pavlaras (Vasilis Avlononitis and Mimis Fotopoulos) are two organ-grinders who see that their job cannot support them any longer in Athens and decide to go to the countryside. One day, while they are at the religious festival of Our Lady of Plataniotisa, they meet a pretty and kind-hearted young woman named Kaiti. (Jenny Karezi). The girl is desperate because she has just run away from home. Her father, who is a rich shipowner wants her to marry a middle-aged friend of his, while she is in love with Dimitris (Nikos Alexandrakis), a poor clerk. Although the two good-hearted organ-grinders learn that her father is offering a large reward to anyone who finds his daughter, they ignore the money and try to find ways to help the young woman marry the person she loves. They finally manage to reconcile the couple with the young woman’s father.
